What a Virtual Visit May Include
You'll be able to securely upload a photo of the area of concern along with describing your symptoms and history. Treatment recommendations depend on your symptoms, medical history, available examination findings, and provider judgment.
What Your Provider May Review
Your provider may review your photo, how long you've had the concern, whether it's changing, any related symptoms, and your relevant history, then discuss reasonable next steps with you.
When In-Person or Emergency Care May Be Needed
Some conditions may require laboratory testing, imaging, an in-person examination, urgent care, or emergency evaluation. Moles or spots that are new, changing in size, shape, or color, or look unusual should be evaluated in person, since these changes can be a sign of skin cancer. Signs of a serious skin infection — spreading redness, fever, red streaking from the area, or rapidly worsening symptoms — also need prompt in-person or emergency evaluation rather than a virtual visit.

Can a mole or spot be diagnosed over video?
Not reliably. Moles or spots that are new, changing, or unusual-looking should be evaluated in person, since photos and video have real limits for this kind of assessment.
Do I need to upload a photo?
A clear photo helps your provider assess your concern, and Level Up's secure upload keeps it private. Your provider will let you know if they need anything else.
What if my skin infection is getting worse?
